Commemorative
Today is depressing [to me] for all the wrong reasons.
Staying away from the public garment rending and victimized jingoism that is social media for the next 24 hours.
The PUACF
I’m not the most rabid football fan out there. I live in an area where it is hard to root for the dominant program for $REASONS while none of the other programs provide much reason to root. My other alma mater has a joke of a program so rooting for them is even more depressing. Also, football isn’t my favorite contact sport even though Elizabeth will tell you I’ve wasted enough time on the couch the last two weeks sleeping through games.
But THIS1 right here is where I think college football needs to head. And stat. Not to mention the affectation used in the writing is brilliant. Also personally funny/relevant in that one of the few competitive impromptu speeches I gave in high school competition was on the topic: Football Is a Communist Plot.
We need the People’s Union of American College Football!
So, yes, bring on the level of competition is greater. Bring on the is no cupcake schedule. Eliminate inefficient capitalist driven competition and bring on true competition of team verses team in fair combat where every game is exciting and a single loss does not eliminate you from nationally broadcast bowl of fruit championship game.

I thought perhaps the effort of throwing this mix cd together might sate the whole ’60s French Femme Fatale thing a little but I think it ended up stoking the fire even more. Doing some of the research turned up a vast number of albums that still need acquiring. I foresee a long day at Kanesville because I have a feeling that there are more than a few of these hiding in the international room upstairs (my hope) or on the main floor. Upstairs because that’s a buck an album whereas downstairs means Tim/Cliff know what they have and it will be priced accordingly.
If you take the time and download/listen please let me know what you think. Also if you know of more artists or have leads/link, please share them in the comments section. I’m seriously obsessed with this genre right now. Finally, if you’re really interested in an actual physical audio cd (with awesome cover art linked previously) I’m down with sending one out. Just give me a comment/email.
I miss having my own radio show very much right about now.
Ghostly
The whitest thing I’ve ever witnessed was Elizabeth’s face seconds before she administered her first insulin shot. But then, with the help of her big girl panties, she jabbed that sucker in and pushed the plunger with nary a problem.
Very proud of her. On the other hand, she won’t share the spider ring she got from the treasure chest on the way out the door. So selfish sometimes!

Here’s the album cover art for my contribution to the 2013-2 MeFiSwap. I’m throwing together an album of 60s – 70s French lady pop. After all, I’m way into it at the moment, why wouldn’t other folks be as well?
Still shoring up the track list but will post that as well once I get these pressed and mailed out to my swap set.
