I’ve just spent about 90 minutes looking at the HTML5 and CSS3 specs for the first time. Brain asplode!
My stories of web development headaches/heartaches from ten to fifteen years ago have to sound like the infirm rantings of an age-ravaged mind to anyone who has picked this stuff up in the last few years.
‘Techxploitation’ or ‘Texploitation’? One is more obvious. The other is more clever.
What did you learn today?
It’s a perfect storm of sorts. We can’t build anything because the NAS is out of space. Deleting directories on the NAS generates snapshots. Snapshots are stored on the NAS. The more directories that get deleted, the more snapshots are created. So the builds continue to fail. #FML
Watching Vagrant/Chef stand up a Windows box out of thin air is exciting. At least it is the first time around.
If you learn something every day and knowledge is power then your power grows every day.
And, yet, I feel ever more powerless.
How passive aggressive would it be if I sent the owners of broken builds birthday cards on the anniversaries* of those builds being broken?
* Say…One Week, One Month, One Quarter, Half a Year, and then on each year? As weird as it might sound, one build in particular is less than two months away from their One Year card.
Facebook is the most depressing thing in my world. Time to unplug it.
Three hardback and a paperback book from AbeBooks for just over $20. As much as I love my cheap-o Kindle, I think used books from Abe’s are going to render it obsolete.
