Too early for Christmas music, but not too early to appreciate downloading a fine Christmas album put out by the folks at Stella Atrois. I warn you it is lots o’ Flash but I was also tell you that this is one of the few times that lots o’ Flash is a good thing. A very good thing.
This is the slinky universe I navigate in my head whilst wandering through this mundane one in which I find myself.

Do or D-I-Y is a mashup/remix podcast radio show by People Like Us. It is only one of the many entertaining shows in WFMU‘s arsenal of not-in-the-mainstream talent.
It is, in a word, phenomenal. It is also going on hiatus for a bit. You can listen to archived shows though, and I highly recommend them. You can also have it queued up in your podcast manager thinger so that when shows start turning up again, you’ll be the first to know.
Just came up on Spotify’s “Electronic” radio station: Jolie Coquine : Caravan Palace. Loving this song lots so I search for more and it turns out this is a single and the only thing available by this artist (on Spotify anyway). I’d listen to a whole day’s worth of music in this vein.
So I am digging the Quincy Jones back catalog for the first time ever. Found the source for an awesome Cypress Hill sample here: Qunicy Jones : You’ve Got It Bad Girl : Summer in the City.

And once again the audio archives for the Millionaire’s Holiday are back on line. Hopefully there will be fewer power-surge-related disk melting incidents from here on out.
In an unfortunate power-surge incident, the machine hosting the audio files had its OS borked. The audio files themselves are kosher, fortunately, but the drive hosting the OS now has more bad sectors than Detroit. Bad enough to turn a 40GB drive into a measly 8.5GB of storage. Definitely time to get a new HD. Until then, the music shop is closed…
Radio DavidByrne.com. In the event there is one person out there still who has not yet heard of this. Fantastic collection of music streamed with decent compression. If I had the time I’d do a massive stream capture and cut tracks all day long.
Brought on by seeing this. A new collaboration between Eno and Byrne? Likely nice.
