I don’t think I’ve expressed much love for MLB since 1994. I enjoy the game of baseball. I like some of the teams and players. I just absolutely hate the governing body of professional baseball.
A lot.
Another exhibit in the bottomless stack of reasons why I hate MLB is this bit of spam I receive at least once a week detailing ostensibly single fans of baseball in my geographical proximity. It is just plain wrong on so many levels and it shits me to no end. Yet every week there’s this:
This oral history of the 1989 Cleveland Indians [1] is a great writeup. A pennant run for the ages to be sure.

For once the NHL trade deadline is more entertaining than MLB’s. Watching the Canucks as sellers is kind of difficult though. Especially if Kesler goes (as is anticipated).
I’m getting daily emails from MLB reminding me that I can vote for the MLB All Stars. We’re not even 9% of the way through the season and yet I’m supposed to be voting on the best players? At least let them finish the first month before unleashing the haranguing.
Familiar refrain: I love baseball. I hate MLB. Their hype generator and money grubbing is entirely unpleasant.
